Gala dinner and benefit auction 2025

On Thursday 29 October, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens warmly invites you to its annual gala dinner and benefit auction. Since 2007, this event has been a special moment in the Belgian art calendar, bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, and partners in support of the museum’s artistic mission.

Thanks to the generous contributions of artists, galleries, and partners, as well as your bids on a carefully curated selection of artworks auctioned by Christie’s, this evening makes it possible to realise an ambitious programme of exhibitions, residencies, and public engagement. The proceeds go directly towards the museum’s artistic programme, the residency at Woning Van Wassenhove, and its educational activities, following a transparent model in which 30% of each sale is returned to the artist.

At a time when museums are facing significant challenges, MDD continues to build its future. With a small team and nearly half of its budget relying on self-generated income, this requires ongoing commitment and solidarity from our community. At the same time, the museum is growing: visitor numbers are increasing, the museum garden is being redesigned, and its exhibitions receive broad national and international attention.

This year, the evening is conceived by artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, known for performances in which shared meals become a way of bringing people together. In this spirit, chef Matthieu Beudaert will prepare a special dinner in which gastronomy and encounter come together. As a guest, you will also receive an exclusive edition by Tiravanija to take home.

Once again, the evening promises to be a moment of inspiration, where remarkable artworks meet meaningful encounters.
