Feed the Horse!

Feed the horse! is a performance by Julien Neirynck and Vincent Van Meenen, inspired by the rich history of Sint-Martens-Latem, and more specifically, the history of the various Latem schools.

Neirynck and Van Meenen translate the pastoral and bucolic themes of the Latem schools into a contemporary and somewhat uneasy urban context, focusing on the longing for a romantic ideal and the interaction between humans and animals.

Feed the horse! also references the wild stories from the 1970s when Latem artists roamed the woods naked with donkeys and horses.

The result is a contemplative search for essence and core, a poetic and abstract meditation on themes such as freedom and affection.
