Artistieke Alliantie: Permeke en De Smet in Focus

MDD presents four works from the collection at the Gust De Smet Municipal Museum.

This presentation focuses on the friendship between Constant Permeke and Gustave (Gust) De Smet, with an emphasis on their artistic connections. Drawing on the existing collection and the layout of De Smet’s last residence and studio, this exhibition highlights the enduring friendship between the two artists. Inspired by international styles and expressionist elements, they each developed their own unique style. Throughout their lives, Permeke and De Smet continued to meet, inspire, and admire each other.
