Natasja Mabesoone

1988

Natasja Mabesoone (1988, Knokke) strings together ideas about reproducibility and repetition through printmaking. Her practice reflects on femininity by using ‘minor aesthetics’ – linking crafts, the cute, and the trivial.

In 2022, she presented her solo exhibition OMG STACYyyyyyy, that type of thing at Gallery Sofie Van de Velde in Antwerp and in 2021 her monograph Bernice Bobs Her Hair was published by Posture Editions. She was part of WIELS’s residency programme in 2019. Her work has been presented in S.M.A.K., Ghent; Island, Brussels; Fons Welters, Amsterdam; Intimnoe mesto, St. Petersburg; Salonul de proiecte, Bucharest and was recently acquired by the Flemish Government for the collection of M HKA Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp.
