Embroidery workshop
In this workshop, we take inspiration from Brazilian artist Fernando Marques Penteado, whose work is featured in the tenth edition of the Biennale of Painting.
His practice brings together textiles, objects, and stories in a playful dialogue, using traditional craft techniques to explore themes such as identity, gender, class, and history. We move beyond conventional embroidery methods and approach the needle as a tool for narrative assembly and experimentation.
Together with artists Emma Crombé and Louis Dewitte, you will create a small artwork using embroidery techniques inspired by the universe of Marques Penteado. Working with vintage fabrics, thread, and written words, you will build a textile collage. Gradually, your piece will evolve from individual elements into a meaningful creation that you can take home at the end of the workshop.
