From 2027, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens will lose 30% of its Flemish operating subsidy for heritage, on top of last year’s cuts. This measure strikes at the heart of our museum’s work: caring for our collection, conducting research, organising exhibitions, supporting artists and delivering educational programmes for schools, children and a broad audience.
In 2028, MDD will celebrate its sixtieth anniversary. Six decades in which artists, collectors, researchers and visitors have come together to build a very special place. Today, the future of this work is under pressure.
What disappears today cannot simply be rebuilt tomorrow. Knowledge, expertise and space for artists take years to develop.

Your donation helps MDD continue its essential work. You support the care of our collection, the development of exhibitions, our collaborations with artists and our educational programmes for children, schools and other visitors.
Every contribution, large or small, makes a difference. Your support helps us remain, even in challenging times, a place where art is created, researched, preserved and shared.
For donations of €40 or more, a tax certificate can be issued, entitling you to a tax reduction under the applicable conditions.

Despite the cuts, we remain committed to investing in the future and making the museum more accessible.
In 2028, we aim to transform the museum garden into an open and accessible space where art, nature and encounters come together. Among the greenery and sculptures, visitors, walkers and cyclists will find space to explore, play and unwind.
By adding new trees, benches, picnic areas and small woodland play areas, we want to further develop the garden as a public space that connects the museum with its surroundings.
